Thank you to our choir for a wonderful presentation of “Living Hope” on Easter Sunday! It’s an honor for me to work with such a talented and dedicated group of choir members. I would like to invite anyone interested in joining our choir to come to our practice each Sunday evening. We practice at 6:30.

Andrew Bergthold recently wrote a devotional about the song, “Sing Wherever I Go”. We, as a church family, started singing this song last fall. Andrew, along with Ed Cash, Frannie Cash, Kyle Briskham, Martin Cash and Scott Cash wrote the song in 2019.

Below is the devotional that Andrew wrote along with an explanation of why they were led to write the song.

“I remember a dark moment in my life several years ago where I was feeling overwhelmed and depressed. I sensed the Holy Spirit urge me to pick up my guitar and worship. It was the last thing I wanted to do, but I knew it was what I needed. As I started singing there alone in my room, everything changed. The darkness lifted and I was transported from the valley to the throne room of God.

Psalm 100:4-5 says, ‘Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.’

There are two doorways that lead us directly into the presence of our Father; thankfulness and praise! It’s not just a suggestion, it’s a principal. Both of these practices are a mind-battle for a perspective shift. Thankfulness speaks to Gods goodness. It requires me to acknowledge that I am not in control and reminds me that the gifts I have been given were given to me by an Almighty God. Praise is verbal affirmation that, despite my circumstances, I choose Joy.

Now, in my day-to-day walk with Jesus, I choose to sing wherever I go, no matter what I am going through. I love the chorus of this song because it’s filled with both thanksgiving and praise! “All my life all I know, God’s been good, good to my soul. Mountain high or valley low, I’m gonna sing wherever I go.”

-Andrew Bergthold

Í will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.” (Psalm 89:1)
